Collection: Sheitel Stands

Stands for a weekday sheitel, a Shabbos sheitel and the rest of the rotation, on padded wig heads that keep each one ready.

About sheitel stands

Sheitel stands for more than one sheitel

If you cover your hair, chances are you own more than one sheitel. Usually there's a weekday sheitel and a Shabbos one, and often an older piece held back as a spare. Each of them needs somewhere to rest between wears, somewhere it stays brushed and keeps its shape. Perch Collection builds its stands around that rotation, putting several padded wig heads on one base.

Wig heads compared: foam, lucite and padded

Most sheitel heads you'll find hold one piece each. A styrofoam or canvas wig head is cheap and light, and it's really made for pinning and styling. A lucite head is clear acrylic, often personalized with a name, and it looks elegant on a vanity. Acrylic wig stands and mannequin heads share that same limit, since each one only takes a single sheitel.

A Perch stand works differently. Its heads are rounded domes covered in cushioned fabric, three or four to a metal frame, and your sheitel sits over the dome the way it sits on your head. The crown stays supported, and the whole rotation lives in one spot instead of spreading across a shelf.

Which stand suits your rotation

With two or three sheitels, the Three-Head Tabletop Wig Stand fits on a dresser or vanity. Once you're at four, the floor stand makes more sense, and it can grow to eight later when you put an add-on on the same pole. Sizing gets its own page at wig stands for multiple wigs.

A stand as a gift

Because each stand arrives in a gift box, it makes a good present for a kallah setting up her first home. It works just as well for a mother or sister whose collection has outgrown the dresser, and the kallah gifts page covers choosing one for a bride. As Rivky H. from Brooklyn put it: "My wigs used to sit in boxes or on random surfaces, and now everything has a place."

Questions about sheitel stands and wig heads

What is the difference between a sheitel stand and a sheitel head?

The head is the form the wig rests on, while the stand holds one or more heads above a base. Perch Collection stands come with the heads already attached.

Will a padded wig head flatten the style?

It shouldn't. The dome is rounded and cushioned, so it fills the cap evenly instead of pressing on one spot. Brush the piece first and set it down from front to back, and our guide on how to store a sheitel between wears walks through the rest.

Can I keep a lace-top or human hair wig on it?

You can. The heads are covered in fabric with no pins or clamps, so there's nothing to catch on lace or hair.

Is a lucite wig head better for display?

For one sheitel shown off on a vanity, a clear lucite head looks lovely. Once you've got three or more in daily use, though, a stand with padded heads keeps them together, and you can match its black, gold or white frame to the room.

How is it shipped?
