The easiest way to choose is to count the wigs or sheitels you wear in a normal week. Three or fewer fit the tabletop stand, while four or more are better on the floor stand, which can take an extra tier later if you need room for eight.

Count your rotation

Include every piece you wear at least once a month, plus the one that's out for a wash and set. For a lot of women that means a weekday sheitel and a Shabbos sheitel, with something shorter for simchas, and that rotation fits the Three-Head Tabletop Wig Stand exactly.

Choose tabletop or floor

A tabletop stand uses a surface you already have. The Four-Head Wig Stand needs a small patch of floor instead, about what a side table takes up, but it frees up the dresser, so if yours is already crowded the floor stand is usually the easier fit.

Pick a finish for the room

Start with the hardware and wood that are already there. Black suits dark wood and iron, and gold picks up brass pulls and warm tones. White pretty much disappears against pale walls and painted closets.

Plan for a growing collection

Collections tend to grow over time. If you've got four pieces now and expect more, the floor stand gives you room, since the Four-Head Add-On puts a second tier of heads on the same pole.

Buying for someone else

Every stand comes in a gift box. For a kallah starting out with her first sheitels the tabletop stand is a good fit, and our kallah gifts page has more ideas.
